Malaysia's one and only ISP, Streamyx, has offered me an early Christmas present by making sure that my Internet connection since yesterday is as speedy as a paraplegic tortoise high on amphetamines. Calling support is of course useless as those folks are outsourced staff trained only to recite from their copy of form responses like the trained monkeys that they are. They have no clue what is going on and suggested that maybe I needed a new modem. I tell you, if I listen to them, I'd have bought at least ten modems this year alone.
Therefore, as usual, whenever the service goes down the drain, the only thing I can do is to take two aspirins and lie down, praying that divine miracle will help resolve my connection ASAP.
