Speaking of vampires, if you have time to waste, head over to this thread that details Anne Rice's public dispute with a restaurant owner back in 1995. The fellow had converted the building that Anne Rice designated in her books as Lestat's resting place. She didn't approve of the decor, fired a public reprimand in the paper, and it went downhill from there. As much as I adore Laurell K Hamilton's crazy train drama, Anne Rice in her glorious heydays would never be beat as the Queen of Crazy. I especially love this public response by someone who supported the restaurant owner:Please, Anne, refrain from architectural criticism and stick to what you do best......writing lucrative novels that romanticize repugnant, murderous, blood-sucking vampires with TERMINALLY BAD HAIR.
