American Idol... 7? 8? 300?

So, are you watching this season? I'm not sure whether I would, to be honest. I caught the Hollywood episodes and I think I'm just tired of the whole formula after following this show for six or seven years - who's counting? - because I don't feel any excitement. Of course, the fact that the guys in this season are once again of the weird ugly type (apart from Luke Menard who actually has some facial hair, such a rarity among the males on this show) don't raise my hopes of seeing anything too grand in this season.

But I'll be tuning in the next few weeks just to see whether I will find someone to root for. I can't be bothered in the previous season since even the sainted Melinda Doolittle got on my nerves ten seconds into her blinking "What? What? Me? Me? EEEE!" act. I hope there is someone who is worth rooting for without feeling like I have a root canal in the process.

Of course, if someone sacks the three increasingly boring and useless "judges", I'll definitely be watching.

The formula of this show is so, so, so tired where I am concerned.

I'm so glad i'm not the only one who saw through the Melinda-act! LOL

I'm watching this season... DH loves the first half (the auditions - people making fools of themselves) I like the second half - the actual competition.

I'm upset that my favorite went home. :( I loved Josiah (the nineteen year old who was living in his car... I just wanted to take him home and make him dinner!)

As for "real men" - what about that hot Australian guy!? YUM! ;)

And I'm sorry, but my Simon isn't going anywhere... love him! :P

This is the first season I've watched. I somehow managed to stay away from previous seasons. I like the Australian guy and the rocker nurse and the kid from Utah. We liked the homeless kid, but he'll be back. Yanno?

I agree. I watched this show like a silly fan girl for years, but this season I think I'm finally over it. Just like Survivor. It's sad really that the networks don't know when to just let something go while they are still on top.

I might watch now that they are in Hollywood, but only if I see someone who really stands out.
