It's election fever here in Malaysia. Of course, it's a foregone conclusion that the current government will retain its majority to keep ruling for the next, oh, one million years, but this election has some moments of suspense due to the fact that the Indian section of the population has not been very happy with the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) lately and therefore there is a good chance that the opposition parties may obtain more seats in the Parliament.
Anyway, as the election day looms, it is common for people to get all kinds of opposition party propaganda text messages. Yes, they are spam, but most people like me don't mind these kinds of spam because the opposition parties need all the help they can get given that the government-controlled media is banned from featuring anything related to the opposition parties. The current government, of course, uses our tax money to fund its election campaign. That's Malaysia for you.
Anyway, I love this one and would like to share it around:
Badawi & Samy Vellu in helicopter. Looking down at KL, Badawi said, "If I throw 2 RM100 notes down, 2 people are going to be happy." Samy Vellu said, "If I throw 200 RM1 notes, 200 people will be happy." The pilot heard and said, "If I throw both of you down, 27 million Malaysian people will be happy."
Happy voting people. Oh, and before you ask, hubby and I are DAP supporters until the day we die. So there!
