According to Julia on the Dear Author Dara Joy thread, Dara Joy is planning her fourth self-publishing venture. Wait, I thought she'd settled the Dorchester lawsuit and is now available to be picked up by a publisher? I suppose there are still some kinks to be ironed out before her grand comeback can happen.
What I am curious is how Cory - Dara's son, boyfriend, or jailkeeper, depending on whom you ask - said that this ebook will be a "limited edition" one. I sincerely hope it's not an ebook that comes in one of those Mission Impossible type discs, programmed to self-destruct after a period of time, because if I pay $10.50 - yes, $10.50 - for an ebook, I'd like to own it permanently. And what's this about Cory needing two weeks to "ship" the ebook when it's available?
If this blog entry on "Castle Joy" is anything to go by, this new story could be an expansion/rewrite of the pointless In Kirkpatrick's Woods rather than the much-awaited story of... what's-his-name, Triad? Ah yes, Traed.
Cory tries to tempt you into wanting to see what is in Dara Joy's woods by saying, "It is spooky that the things she wrote about in 2003 regarding the economy and unchecked greed are a reality today, which is why I think we have been getting so many requests for this story lately."
Ah yes, but poor Dara, did she foresee the sorry state of her career today?
Sorry, guys, but $10.50 is too much for me to plonk down and play the guinea pig for Dara's Delightful DIY Drama this time around, especially when I think very little of the original story. Any volunteers willing to step up to the plate?
PS: Who is this Dawn H woman who claimed on the website, "I'd crawl over broken glass to the mailbox if it would get me a Dara Joy book!"? I think Cory made her up.
