So says Robert Young, the CEO of self-publishing giant Lulu to the New York Times recently. Read it here (but you will need a membership to access it, alas).
You have to give credit to our epublisher CEOs. As much as they swallow their own foot at times, I doubt any of them has said to the New York Times anything to this degree.
To an observer like myself, given how anyone can publish anything on Lulu, what Robert dear has said could easily be the truth. Just take a look at Lulu's forums to see how many incoherent and poorly-written posts there are written by "published' authors and shudder. Still, you have to admit, it is just poor PR for a CEO to dismiss his client base like this.
