People outside the UK and non-Big Brother UK fans will surely have no idea who Jade Goody is. I know of her, but that's because I follow reality TV shows and it's hard not to read about her in that particular area.
She died a few days ago after a short fight with cervical cancer, which is not a happy moment, but what really puzzles me is how, the moment she announced that she had cancer, she immediately transformed from one of UK's most hated "celebrity" to one of its most celebrated. You'd think, judging from how even the Prime Minister commented on her passing, that she was some kind of important celebrity rather than some ex-reality TV contestant who milked her fame right up to her final moment on Earth. I suppose those tabloids needed something to write about, but I'm more confused as to why those people who gleefully called Jade a "chavvie racist" would do such a quick turnaround and call her an angel. Hmm. People can be strange, I suppose.
Still, some people are not amused. These are three of the most amusing or offensive (depending on how you look at things) YouTube clips I can find about the whole media circus behind dear departed Jade's illness and death:
she immediately transformed from one of UK's most hated "celebrity" to one of its most celebrated.
Actually, it was the media who turned her into a paragon of virtue. The average man/woman on the street still felt she was an attention whore. I listened to the various debates, and quite a few people were angry about the coverage.
God keep her sons safe, and hopefully that fucktard that she married doesn't get a penny of her money.
