I am not a blog

Okay, so I am not an "actual" review site compared to the rest of the list. I admit that I am not qualified to be a reviewer in the first place. I have no issues with that.

But can my darling detractors please, please get the following right?

There is no community aspect of my website. I don't like communities. I always feel this need to babysit them from going out of control and I have better things to do. Fortunately, the folks in this blog have been very well-behaved, thank you guys.

My website is not a blog. This is a blog, yes, but my website is a dinosaur coded entirely in now obsolete HTML, except for the gallery of hunks page. Does my website even look like a blog? I don't get it.

I have secret powers that terrorize authors in their sleep. I am actually Julia Quinn (I was surprised when I first heard that one, but now I've since heard that one so many times over the last eight years, I've now accepted it as the truth). I have a stash of rejected WIPs in my backyard.

But please, for the love of god, MY WEBSITE IS NOT A BLOG.

Sorry, but being called a blog is an irrational peeve of mine.

I did not get that either Mrs. G. I think people have a right to their opinion and all that.

BUT... Your site was the first actual eBook review website that did not come across to me as a "pay me five bucks and I will pay you back" scam.

Since you do not have comments or interactions on your reviews I do not know how you would promote drama.

That's quite a self-serving, arrogant and self-congratulatory blog post. And let's not even go into misinformed. Calling your site a "blog" was not the only bit of misinformation he/she gave.
I'll leave it at that.

Just out of curiosity...why, exactly, aren't you qualified to be a reviewer?

B, are you kidding? Look at my grammar and spelling! Lol.

So what? Maybe you're not qualified to edit people's grammar and spelling, but what does that have to do with reviewing?

Most of the time I see reviewers state that they write their reviews for the reader, not the writer. They're opinions. Who's more qualified to know your opinion than you?

"I admit that I am not qualified to be a reviewer in the first place."

That's one stupid comment, Mrs G. You've reviewed for how long? Ten years? However long it's been, you're certainly qualified to be recognised as a reviewer.

Well, you might still think you aren't qualified to be a reviewer, but you were certainly the first to kick the "Only Super Author-Friendly Reviewers May Enter Here" doors wide open.

And you have the scars to prove it. :D
